june 2000. with a number of other new starters b2s and a ten year in b2, i happened to be have been sent to harlesden north london to joint together the ends of strands of copper wire. working out of the local exchange. me and the ten yr b2, lets call him lolin runt (placed to work with him in dec. 1999 when on the first day working, voluntarily without prompting informed me that ...i'd better warn you colin, there is a lot of racism in tec and there's one racist in particular in 'the yard' ....yeah? really?who's he then? what's his name? i asked. - you'll find out - was the response) were travelling daily from aylesbury. the other four to six (cant recall exactly) lads were on lodge. (this is an in-house term. a relevant and an important one throughout this story, which simply means employees are paid a fixed amount, then £60 per night, to say on site and find suitable b&b accommodation in place of travelling a too far a distance home. the scam was that the lads would oft times 'lodge' in the back of their tonner (bt box van) and pocket the tax free 'lodge money' over the number of nights their manager agreed their lodge period.) in the exchange car park or at a local-ish camp site.
on a pm in the local exchange i remembered i had a task to do prior to travelling home. i called my local cwu branch to request membership joining details. an answering machine greeted my call. i gave my details the reason for my call immediately upon which the receiver was picked up and the oxbucks branch dep. sec said he would be happy to have me join there and then. which i did.
i did not know the branch rep from adam. all he knew about me was that i was a relatively new starter who desire trade union membership. i noted the fact that this union rep was happy for a calling member to leave a message about whatever was concerning the member on his answering machine despite the fact that he was present in his office but could not pick up the receiver fast enough when he realized a new branch membership was in the offing. i next had dealing with the cwu oxbucks branch in 2003 about the conduct of an incompetent lazy box ticker reading tec line manager who managed the aylesbury, oxford and reading peu bods. then future contact with oxbucks cwu branch reps again in april 2004 (a very hilarious episode) and then from oct. 2005 until contact between myself and the cwu wimbledon and cwu-cctv branch ceased in dec. 2012.
preceding this, in nov 2000 alongside other b2s i was now picking up singleton wire jointing work via the fax provided in the aylesbury tec signing on room sent from the cowley barracks work allocator. the fax machine was located in a part of the signing on room used by the 3 man aylesbury peu crew. within the hearing of all in the signing on room via mobile phone i had to inform the allocator on several occasions that the promised fax containing alloctaed work sent by him did not arrive. i was informed it had been sent. only to discover that the pole erection unit 'substantive' c1 grade bt i.t gold user team leader was knowingly binning the faxed paperwork sent to me. i had to retrieve fax from the waste bin near the machine and told the allocator the sent faxes had been binned. upon which one of the men standing near the fax machine who was the 'substantive' c1 grade bt i.t gold user team leader spke to me. he said - oh were they yours mate? sorry about that mate'. this statement of the 'substantive' c1 grade bt i.t gold user team leader was accompanied by the most ignorant stupid smirk, typical of a practiced halfwit moron. this 'smile' i was treated too by the 'substantive' c1 grade bt i.t gold user team leader in turn exposed the repulsive sight of the extreme diastema the speaker is afflicted with. this was the first time contact with and good look at the dunce bnp racist cunce who is #RB53WMB.
